RECAP

Northwestern was a heavy favorite with a recent win over Michigan, but Iowa's young team was ready for the challenge and upset the defending Rose Bowl champs. With the score tied 21-21 in the 4th quarter, Jack Dittmer raced behind the Wildcat defenders, snatched Fred Ruck's pass and scored. An outstanding performance by halfback Jerold Faske was a key to the victory. He rushed for 183 yards on only 20 carries.
