RECAP

Iowa's quarterback Burt Britzmann scored one touchdown and passed two touchdown passes in a blistering second half attack which jolted favored Northwestern. Britzmann came into the game when starting QB Paul Kemp was injured. Five of the touchdowns resulted from steady drives downfield, varying from 48 to 80 yards, one carried 80 yards in five plays, another 79 in nine plays, and a third went 71 yards in six plays. They also were effective on the ground, rushing for 336 yards. Left end Dan McBride caught five passes to break the Iowa school record of 24, including a 55-yard TD catch.
