RECAP

The Hawks were already underdogs going up against #2 MSU, but injuries forced players to play at positions they hadn't even practiced. Despite the limitations, the Hawks were able to move the ball on offense, and orchestrated an opening 90-yard TD scoring drive to take a surprising 7-0 lead. The Spartan defense was only allowing 40 yards on the ground on average. The Hawks got 150 yards rushing and 120 yards of passing. The score was only 12-7 in the first quarter, but 23 points by MSU in the 2nd quarter made it 35-7 at halftime.

Clinton Jones had another big game against Iowa, scoring 3 TDs, including two scores of over 70 yards. Last year he rushed for 4 TDs in another blowout win.
