RECAP

After a slow start, the Hawks trailed by 10 points about halfway through the 1st half. But Iowa made four straight field goals to make it 28-26, and trailed by 4 at halftime. In the 2nd half, the Hawks were as close as 1 point after a Drew Thelwell 3-pointer, but Northwestern responded with back-to-back 3-pointers to expand its lead to seven. They couldn't get it any closer than 4 points the rest of the game. The Hawkeyes finished shooting 21-of-58 (36.2%) from the field and 8-of-25 (32%) from three. The loss puts Iowa back in jeopardy of missing the conference tournament (bottom 3 are not invited).

Thelwell led the Hawks with 14 points, Josh Dix added 10 points, and Payton Sandfort grabbed 9 rebounds, but had trouble scoring, going 3-for-17 (18%) from the floor.
