RECAP

6th-seed Iowa fell behind 11-2 to 11th-seed Gonzaga. After regrouping, they took a 7-point lead into halftime. But 2 minutes into the 2nd half, the lead was gone. The home court advantage was too much for the Hawks to overcome along with the 19 turnovers (15 through steals). Gonzaga made the game's final surge, an 18-5 run while down 60-55 that resulted in a 73-65 lead with 6:30 to go.

Kachine Alexander pulled down 11 rebounds and scored 18 points in her last game as a Hawkeye. Jaime Printy scored 25 points to lead the Hawks, including 5 3-pointers (school record for the NCAA tournament). She became the 29th Iowa player to score 1,000 in her career. Kelly Krei also added 15 points. The 13 3-pointers also set a school record in an NCAA tournament game.

The Bulldogs were 29-4 on the year, but surprisingly got an 11-seed but ended up with their first 2 games at home. They would go on to the regional finals (Elite Eight) after playing 2 games at home and the other 2 games in their home city (Spokane).
