RECAP

Three big plays doomed the Hawkeyes in what could have been a close game. The Boilermakers scored on a 63 yard touchdown run, a 90 yard interception return, and a record 47 yard field goal. The Hawkeyes actually led the game until that record field goal right before half.

Iowa's John Muller and Purdue's Gary Hrivnak were thrown out of the game for fighting late in the fourth quarter.
