RECAP

UCLA recovered from a loss to Nebraska last week with a 404-yard rushing attack to blowout Iowa. The Hawks took an early 10-3 lead on an 11-yard pass from Kyle Skogman to Brian Rollins. Harry Kokolus added a 45-yard field goal, which tied a school record. But two fumbles by Phil Hayman changed momentum, and Iowa was down 24-10 at hafltime.

Butch Caldwell replaced Skogman at QB to start the third quarter, who ended 13 of 28 for 170 yards and four interceptions. Caldwell was unable to get much scoring in the 2nd half, but they were able to accumulate 349 yards of total offense. Rollins caught six passes for 80 yards and one TD. Jim Jensen rushed for 51 yards on 12 attempts. Andre Jackson led Iowa defenders with 15 solo tackles and 5 assists.

Future NCIS television star Mark Harmon started the night at quarterback for the Bruins. Future NFL television color commentator Randy Cross played on the offensive line for UCLA.

UCLA is now 5-0 all-time against Iowa.
