RECAP

The Hawkeyes implemented the I formation to it's offense hoping to spark some production. In the first drive of the game however tailback Dennis Mosley injured his ribs and missed the rest of the game. Mosley was one of many other Hawkeyes that were injured on the day. Indiana took a 24-0 lead into half time. Jeff Green who started the second half at quarterback led the Hawkeyes to their first points scoring a touchdown on a 4 yard pass to Rod Morton. It was the first touchdown pass thrown by Iowa all season. The Hoosiers answered Iowa's touchdown with one of their own, ending any hope of a comeback. Bob Commings Jr scored the only other Iowa touchdown on a quarterback sneak in the fourth quarter.

Lee Corso was asked about the cheap shots that Indiana players had complained about in last years game saying, "Nothing happened today, there was not a single incident. You know how kids are - they get a couple shots and think they're cheap ones."

Coach Commings said he would stick with the I formation going forward, "Liltin" Milton Turner who replaced the injured Mosley, ran for 55 yards.
