RECAP

The Hawk defense stepped up, shutting out the Gophers in the 2nd half after falling behind 14-7. Jay Higgins led the team with 9 tackles and one interception, followed by both Deshaun Lee and Nick Jackson with 8 tackles. Quinn Schulte also had an interception. Rhys Dakin punted well, averaging 49.6 yards per punt on 5 attempts. Drew Stevens added a 46-yard FG. Jaziun Patterson added 66 yards rushing to fill in for Johnson.

The Hawks took over with dominant rushing from Kaleb Johnson. He finished with a career-high 206 yards on 21 carries (9.8 yards per carry) and 3 TDs. This made up for the lack of passing game with only 11 of 19 passes for 62 yards.
