After falling behind 7-0 in the 1st quarter on a 64-yard TD pass, the game was stopped for lightning. After the break, Leshon Williams burst open for a 53-yard run, and it was capped off with a 3-yard TD pass from Cade McNamara to Diante Vines. Tory Taylor had a punt downed on the 1-yard line, and a good Cooper DeJean punt return put Iowa in great field position. Williams caught a 25-yard screen pass from McNamara for a TD, and finished with 145 yards on 12 carries (12 yard average). The defense gave up a FG, but held the Broncos scoreless the rest of the game. Iowa took a slim 14-10 lead into halftime. The Hawks got a blocked punt from Anterio Thompson for a safety in the 3rd quarter. Freshman RB Kamari Moulton rushed for 2 short TDs in the second half to put the game away. RB Max White added a late TD run. TE Luke Lachey left the game with an injury and did not return.

The Iowa offense rushed for 254 yards (almost 6 yards per carry), and ended with 387 total yards of offense.

LBs Nick Jackson and Jay Higgins led the team with 9 tackles each.
