RECAP

Hawks' dream season and #2 seed comes to a disappointing end against the Pac-10 regular season champion. In his last game as a Hawkeye,Luka Garza had 36 points to lead the Hawks, tying an Iowa NCAA tournament record set by Bill Logan in 1956. Joe Wieskamp scored 17 points.

Iowa fell behind by 10 points in the first half, when Oregon went on a 18-4 run in the final 4:18 of the half, and Iowa was never able to get much closer the rest of the game. Oregon finished the game with 11 three pointers and 10 dunks.

Since the 1987 Elite Eight team, Iowa has only won one game to advance to the Sweet Sixteen in the last 12 attempts (1999 was the only exception). It hasn't been to the Final Four since 1980, and hasn't won a Big Ten regular season championship since 1979.
