Dave Gunther scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to stop the Huskies from ending Iowa's 81-game home nonconference winning streak. Their last loss was 53-51against Kansas in January 1942. The Hawks struggled from the field, shooting only 32% from the field, and fell behind by 10 points at halftime, and as many as 17 points in the 2nd half.
