The game started out with fumbles by both teams. Iowa got on the board first with a TD run by John Hess to lead 6-0. After another fumble recovery, Hess raced 42 yards to put Iowa in scoring range, and Charles Aldrich scored but the point after was missed. Iowa led 10-0. Missouri responded with their own scoring drive, and recoverd an Iowa fumble to take a 12-10 lead. But the Hawkeyes scored 24 unanswered points to earn a decisive win. The Iowa defense held strong multiple times near the goal line to keep Missouri from scoring. Hess scored two TDs, and Harl Myers scored 2 TDs, including a long 52-yard run. The win was impressive, especially given how poorly they played the week before against Iowa College (Grinnell).
