RECAP

The Hawkeyes snapped a four-game losing streak to get back on the winning track, defeating Wisconsin 33-20. The win improved Iowa's record to 6-4 on the year and kept Hawkeye bowl hopes alive. The Hawkeyes jumped out early, scoring on their first possession when Matt Sherman passed three yards to Michael Burger. Sedrick Shaw would add touchdown runs of one and seven yards in the second quarter as Iowa posted a 21-0 lead. Wisconsin got on the board late in the second quarter on a 45-yard touchdown pass from Darrell Bevell to Michael London. Hawkeye kicker Brion Hurley kicked a 50-yard field goal with 15 seconds left in the half to push the lead to 24-7. In the second half as the Badgers put 13 straight points on the board to cut Iowa's lead to 24-20. A holding penalty against the Badgers in their own endzone resulted in a safety. In the game, Shaw rushed for 214 yards and became Iowa's most productive rusher for one season with 1,304 yards.

COACH GAME QUOTES

Hayden Fry I would have to classify this as one of my top five victories of all time. Had we lost, we would have been out of the bowl picture.
