In a rainy game with muddy field conditions, the Hawks overcame the weather to win convincingly. While most of the game was a punting duel in the middle of the field, and a series of fumbles by both teams, Iowa put together some effective drives. Gordon Locke smashed through center, dodged through the secondary defense, and sprinted the remaining part of the 33 yards for the 1st Iowa TD. The second rushing TD by Aubrey Devine in the 3rd quarter was made possible when Duke Slater made a nice block, clearing away a potential tackler. The 3rd TD in the 4th quarter was scored by Franklin Jaqua, and occurred after a series of "bitter plunges" down the field, which ended any Wildcat hopes of victory.
