RECAP

Iowa committed two costly turnovers in the second half that lead directly to Illinois touchdowns. William Kelly fumbled the ball on a punt return, and Illinois picked it up and ran it back 35 yards for a touchdown. Later in the 4th quarter, Illinois was set up inside the 10 yard line after a turnover on a forward pass. The Hawkeyes added a late field goal to prevent the shutout. 3,000 people showed up at Iowa field to hear the game being transcribed by telegram from Champagne.
