RECAP

The Iowa fans turned up for Homecoming and broke the single game attendance record with 39,000, and they were not disappointed. It was the first home victory against the Badgers in 6 home games across 14 games total (usually there were 2 road games for every Iowa home game, but not sure why that was).

Iowa scored on a Russ Fisher 38-yard receiving TD from Dwight Hoover within the first few minutes. 2 TDs from Joe Laws made the score 20-0 at halftime. Laws added one short TD run, then had a 61-yard punt return for the 2nd TD. He also intercepted a pass late in the game. Bernie Page scored Iowa's last TD on a 45-yard run. On defense, Zud Schammel excelled, including one series where he made 3 straight tackles and then blocked the punt.

On a side note, Iowa mascot Rex II (the successor dog to the original Rex) made his Big Ten home debut, and is 2-0 in games he attends this season.
