RECAP

Michigan QB Tom Brady snuck out of Iowa City with a win over the struggling Hawkeyes, but it was a close game the whole way. This was Hayden Fry's last game against Michigan, and finished with a record of 4-11-1 as Iowa coach. Michigan scored five points in the final nine minutes to defeat Iowa 12-9 in Iowa City. After allowing a Michigan touchdown on the opening drive of the game, the Hawkeye defense held the Wolverines scoreless until a 22-yard field goal with 8:19 to play gave Michigan a 10-9 advantage. The Wolverines added a safety in the final minute. Iowa came up with five Michigan turnovers, but could come up with only three field goals. Tim Douglas connected from 49 yards while Zach Bromert added 29 and 28-yard kicks to give Iowa a 9-7 halftime advantage. Michigan gained 293 yards in total offense, while Iowa could manage just 159 yards. Iowa LB Matt Hughes was in on 13 tackles, while DB Tarig Holman had 10 stops, two pass interceptions and a forced fumble. Iowa QB Kyle McCann led the offense, completing nine of 16 passes for 93 yards. It was Michigan's sixth straight win over Iowa.
