Tim Dwight set a Big Ten record with his fifth career punt return for a touchdown, and Randy Reiners had a pair of one-yard TD passes, leading Iowa to a 31-0 victory over Minnesota.

Reiners improved to 3-0 as the Hawkeyes' starting quarterback. He tossed a one-yard strike to Dwight with 11 minutes remaining in the second quarter, then hit Chris Knipper with another one-yard TD pass to give the Hawkeyes a 17-0 lead late in the first half.

Dwight's 44-yard punt return upped Iowa's lead to 24-0 with 49 seconds left in the period. Dwight, the only player in Iowa history to go over 1,000 yards in three categories, had four receptions for 29 yards, two punt returns for 48 yards and one kickoff return for 48 yards. He finished the regular season with 1,086 punt return yards.

Iowa stretched its advantage to 31-0 on Scott Mullen's seven-yard TD run late in the game. Reiners was 11-of-19 for 113 yards, while Tavian Banks rushed for a team-high 74 yards on 18 carries. Rob Thein added 47 yards on 15 carries. Iowa held Minnesota to just 49 yards rushing.
