Head Coach: Hayden Fry
Attendance: 79,864
Kickoff Temp: 47° F
Start Time: 11:30 AM CST

Wisconsin breaks a long winless streak against Iowa, the first victory since 1976 (were 0-17-1), and the first former assistant coach to defeat Hayden Fry.

Wisconsin overcame the loss of injured star running back Ron Dayne early in the game, and scored all of its points in the 2nd quarter on a touchdown following a fumbled kickoff and 2 field goals.

The Badger defense held Iowa multiple times in scoring territory even after long runs and 2 interceptions. Iowa's only touchdown came late in the third quarter when Randy Reiners capped a five-play, 80-yard drive with a 19-yard scoring strike to Tim Dwight. Zach Bromert's 41-yard field goal with 8:01 left brought the Hawkeyes within three points, but was unable to capitalize on two short field goals later in the game.

QB Scott Mullen and Reiners combined to complete just 8-of-22 passes for 137 yards.
