RECAP

Hoosiers lose their only conference home game and second time to Iowa in the 1983 season. Greg Stokes led the Hawkeyes in scoring with 22 points on 9-for-16 shooting, and also grabbed 9 rebounds and picked off steals. Steve Carfino had a dramatic steal and open court lay-ln in the closing seconds of the first half tied the game at 28 and gave the Hawkeye's some big-time momentum at the start of the second half.

After being held scoreless in the first half, Bob Hansen got on track in the 2nd half, hitting three clutch shots in a row, giving Iowa a two-point lead which they would never relinquish. They struggled at the free-throw line, going 13 of 22 (59%) which kept Indiana in the game.
