Hawkeyes ousted the Big Ten's top seed and co-champion with the help of the first segment of Recker's last-second tournament heroics. He drove the length of the floor before pulling up at the left elbow to drain the game winner with 1.4 seconds remaining. Recker ended with 28 points on 9-14 shooting, and scored 16 of Iowa's last 19 points. Glen Worley added 10 points.

Iowa's defense forced Wisconsin into a Big Ten Tournament record 22 turnovers, 10 above their season average.
