The Hawks struggled in the title game of the Hawkeye Challenge, trailing 12-3 to start, and were down 4 at halftime. The 2nd half also started bad when NIU went on an 8-2 run, and Iowa trailed 40-27 early in the 2nd half before turning the game around. Brody Boyd started the comeback with a series of steals (7 in the game), leading the Hawks to a 44-42 lead with 6:51 to go.
