Greg Brunner scored a career-high 26 points, and Pierre Pierce made a free throw with 9.2 seconds in overtime to upset #17 Louisville. Iowa also got a boost from Brody Boyd, who scored 22 points.

Iowa used a 13-3 run to take a 48-43 lead midway through the second half. The Hawkeyes led by as much as 55-47 before the Cardinals went on a 9-0 run to take the lead at 56-55 with 6:18 to go. Iowa answered with its own 7-0 run, leading 62-56 with 3 minutes left. In OT, Iowa was leading 69-63 and appeared to be pulling away, but two quick 3's tied it up, and led to Pierce's game-winning free throw.
