RECAP

Against the top-ranked Irish, Iowa held its own early in the game. The Hawks rushed for 111 yards and held the steamroller-like offense of the Irish to a mere 55 yards. But they couldn't hold them off in the 2nd half, and couldn't move the ball effectively to keep it close. They received high praise from the Notre Dame coaches on how well they played. Jerold Faske rushed for 82 yards on 11 carries.
