RECAP

After MSU scored a TD and messed up the extra point snap, the Hawkeye defense shut out the Spartans the rest of the game. Harry Kokolus came off a recent hip injury to kick 2 FGs, including a 4th quarter 26-yard kick that tied the game. Iowa recovered 5 of the 8 Spartan fumbles in the game, marking the 2nd game in a row in this matchup where rain made it challenging to hold onto the ball (MSU fumbled 14 times last year, but lost on 3 of them). Freshman Andre Jackson had 22 tackles for the game, 13 of them solo tackles.
