Caitlin Clark recorded 35 points to pass LSU’s Pete Maravich as the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division-I college basketball history with 3,685 career points. She led the Hawks to an impressive win over the Big Ten Champion Buckeyes, getting revenge on their earlier loss this year. Clark recently announced she would declare for the WNBA draft and forgo her COVID year of eligibility. It was the final regular season home game for Senior Gabbie Marshall, Molly Davis (injured knee during the game) and Kate Martin, along with Sharon Goodman (no longer playing basketball).

Marshall went 4-of-8 from the three-point line to add 12 points, and Martin added 11 points on this senior day. Hannah Stuelke contributed 23 points and nine rebounds.

The Hawkeyes led all but the first two minutes of the game. Iowa went on an 18-3 run in midst of the first quarter to lead 28-19 going into the second, and the lead stayed the same going into halftime. Clark was sent to the free-throw line with .03 to play in the second quarter, and she downed both free throws to register her record-breaking point before half. Iowa pulled away with a 13-1 run in the third quarter, leading by as much as 17 points. Ohio State came within eight points with 43 seconds left in the game, but the Hawkeyes held the lead to the end.
