RECAP

Red Grange returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown. The Hawkeyes trailed 10-6 late in the 4th quarter when a drive was kept alive by a roughing the kicker penalty on Illinois. "Cowboy Nick" Kutsch scored the go ahead touchdown for Iowa with 1:00 left on the clock giving Iowa a dramatic victory. Kutsch was responsible for all the Hawkeyes scoring on the day. Kicking 2 field goals, and handling the punting duties in addition to his game winning touchdown run. Several Illinois fans that attempted to make the drive to Iowa City had to stop in Davenport and take the train the rest of the way because the roads were muddy and impassable.
